Independent parliamentarian, Elisa Roberts, has broken down in Queensland parliament as she told of the death of her pet
Dog.

She also claimed that coalition MPs had mounted a vicious campaign against her.

The controversial member for Gympie has been embroiled in bribery allegations and revelations of her conduct over the death of her pet chihuahua Popsicle, which she called "my baby".

She said the Nationals-Liberal coalition was "out to get" her.

She also admitted using her parliamentary letterhead in a four-page fax to Cooloola Shire Council complaining of the fatal mauling of Popsicle by her neighbour's cattle dog Silvie, which she had threatened to kill.

Ms Roberts said she found Popsicle bleeding to death in her neighbour's yard.

"Yes Mr Speaker I swore at the neighbours. I was so distraught I could hardly breath. If I had a gun I'd probably would have shot the neighbour's dog then and there," she said.

Ms Roberts, a former member of the Australian Armed Forces and originally a One Nation MP, said the coalition had hurt her after she claimed that one of them tried to bribe her.

"On my father's grave and Popsicle's grave everything I have said is true.

"When I was in the army my weapon was an SLR (rifle), in this place my weapon is the truth."
