Saleh Jamal, who is currently serving five years in a Lebanese jail on firearms charges, claims that Australian police have offered him a deal to return to Australia in return for information on six colleagues.

Jamal told the Australian that three police officers visited him two months ago, of which two were linked to the New South Wales Police counter-terrorism command and another from the Australian Federal Police.

They reportedly offered the deal which involved him serving about 10 years in a New South Wales prison.

But Jamal said he rejected the offer and told the newspaper that he was more determined than ever to launch a terrorist strike in Australia.
