Police said one suspect was involved in the armed holdup itself while the others had helped to launder money for the robbers.

In the last two months police here already arrested two other men suspected of taking part in the robbery.

Last February a gang of armed robbers held up airport security staff at gunpoint and made off with an armoured car containing the gems.

The robbery was one of the biggest in Dutch history.
