In a case of income tax literally going to the dogs a family in the
Israeli city of Beersheba has been receiving letters from the authorities demanding their dog pay the back taxes he is supposed to owe.
The demands have been arriving for several months and the Belker family have tried to no avail to correct the mistake.
"The letters continue arriving for our dog, Touch" Sara Belker said.
The tax authorities have admitted that they may have been barking up the wrong tree.
They said the letters were not intended for the dog, but for a defunct company with the same name whose owners lived in the same building as Touch.
"Any further correspondence will be sent in the name of the owners and not the name of the company," the tax authorities promised.
The Belker family, however say this might be more than a touch useless, as no one connected to a company called Touch ever lived in their building.
