Called a "mooch artist" by police, the culinary culprit has struck at some of Rome's fanciest restaurants.
She orders expensive wines, three-course meals and then feigns surprise when the bill arrives.
"She came in here and racked up a 70 euro (A$114) lunch bill," said Giovanni Cappelli at Il Chianti restaurant, which specialises in Tuscan food. "Then she said her wallet was in her other purse."
Police identified her only as DN, a 42-year-old resident of the nearby town of Viterbo.
They said she continues to sneak into Rome despite a five-year ban from the Eternal City.
