The United States Secretary of State Condeleezza Rice is meeting with the Prime Minister John Howard.
Dr Rice was met on her arrival at Mr Howard's Sydney office by a small group of demonstrators protesting over the stance taken by the Bush administration towards human rights abuses in China.
After her meeting with the Prime Minister, Dr Rice will meet officials of the Howard Government appointed National Security Council.
