The Queensland Premier, Peter Beattie is flying back to the Innisfail region for talks on how the reconstruction taskforce is progressing.
He'll meet with members of the taskforce, including its head, the former defence chief, General Peter Cosgrove and shire Mayor, Neil Clarke.
Power is gradually being restored, and children returned to school on Monday.
And about 120 tradespeople have begun a six-day volunteer mission to the area, after an appeal on morning television that attracted calls from 7,000 potential volunteers.
