The Prime Minister, John Howard, says he is ready to co-operate with the A-W-B investigation, if he is asked to do so.

The foreign minister, Alexander Downer and the trade minister, Mark Vaile, have been asked to provide sworn statements to the inquiry, detailing their knowledge of kickbacks to Saddam Hussein's government.

Both ministers state they have nothing to hide and will comply with the request by Wednesday next week.

Mr Howard says he doesn't believe his ministers have done anything improper and if he were asked to appear he would do so.
