The Federal Government has condemned a cartoon in a weekend newspaper making fun of the Indonesian President.
The caricature appeared on the Weekend Australian just days after an Indonesian newspaper published a cartoon depicting the Prime Minister John Howard and Foreign Affairs Minister Alexander Downer as copulating dingoes.
The cartoon shows Indonesia's Prime Minister Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono as a dog mounting a startled-looking Papuan dog saying "Don't take this the wrong way".
Mr Downer says this cartoon is likely to cause significant offence to people in Indonesia and the government has already dissociated itself from it.
