Three men arrested on terrorism charges last Friday are due to appear in a Melbourne court today.
Rob Stary, the defence lawyer for Basam Raad, Majid Raad and Shoee Hammoud, says they are unlikely to apply for bail.
The charges include intentional membership in a terrorist organisation and intentionally making funds available and providing support to a terrorist organisation.
But Mr Stary says the accusations are misleading and the men do not deserve the treatment they are facing.
"Three men that were arrested on Friday, alleged of committing offences from last year, will be remanded in custody today at the Melbourne Magistrates Court, and they will be placed into solitary confinement after their remand.
"They've been held as unconvicted prisoners in the state's maximum-security unit.
"They'll be denied access to their families - any physical contact, that is."
