The Veterans Affairs Minister says the Anzac Cove road at Gallipoli in Turkey is being temporarily repaired, prior to this year's Anzac Day commemorations.

Bruce Billson says the Australian and Turkish governments are working together to make the road safe and ready for the large crowds expected to attend services on April 25th.

He says the works include the removal of some minor landslips caused by damage from heavy winter storms on the Gallipoli peninsula.

"We've been very encouraged by the co-operation and the partnership with the Turkish government and local Turkish authorities. The Gallipoli Peninsula is a remarkably significant place, not only in our own national history but also in the national history of Turkey and we are encouraged that temporary road repairs will be carried out to make sure the transport infrastructure is fit for purpose, for this year's Anzac Day commemorations."
