The Prime Minister, John Howard, says that Australia is treated with greater respect today than it was ten years ago.
Mr Howard says Australia has strengthened ties with the United States while forming a bond with its Asian neighbours.
Mr Howard says there's no need to walk away from your history to embrace a modern-day geography in the area of international relations.
