The Prime Minister, John Howard has agreed to provide a written statement to the Cole Commission investigating kickbacks paid by A-W-B to the former Iraqi regime.
Mr Howard says he will submit a statement to the inquiry tomorrow afternoon, and will appear before the commission in person if he's asked.
He says it would be inappropriate for him to reveal the contents of the statement before it's been considered by the inquiry.
"I will, however, say this." he said.
"That I stand by everything that I have so far said about the role and the conduct of the government."
"I do not believe on the information known to me that any of my ministers have been guilty of dereliction of duty and I am very very happy to provide the statement and, if asked, to appear."
The Trade Minister, Mark Vaile, will become the first government minister to make an appearance before the inquiry, when he does so later today.
The Foreign Affairs Minister Alexander Downer will appear before the inquiry tomorrow.
