Armed Australian and New Zealand soldiers and police are set to impose tight security around the Solomon Islands parliament today.
MPs will gather to debate a motion of no-confidence in the new Prime Minister, Snyder Rini.
The public remains barred from parliament in the wake of riots sparked by Mr RINI's election last week.
It is expected the no confidence motion will be lost if it is put to the vote, but there are fears of violent retaliation by Mr Rini's opponents.
