A mining company is expressing grave concern for three miners trapped in a goldmine in northern Tasmania.
Rescue teams are searching underground for the men, who became trapped last night when an earthquake triggered a landslide in the Beaconsfield goldmine.
The mine is about 20 kilometres north-west of Launceston.
Emergency services and ambulances are on standby.
A support centre for relatives and friends of the trapped men has been set up in the council chambers.
