Treasurer Peter Costello says Australia must do more to fight global warming, claiming nuclear power may be the best option.
Mr Costello has declared nuclear power "the clean energy of the future" and says Australians should get used to the idea of a domestic nuclear power station.
He has told Channel-Ten that it does not make sense that uranium is mined in Australia solely to be sold to foreign nations.
He says if fossil fuel's prices will increase and uranium becomes commercial, than it should be used to produce energy.
