The two miners still trapped in a Tasmanian goldmine after five days have been found alive.
34-year-old Todd Russell and 37-year-old Brant Webb survived in the collapsed mine by drinking rancid water dripping from the walls.
The men have been able to speak to their families through the mine radio and are believed to be in good spirits.
A small drilling-machine cage apparently protected them from last Tuesday night's rockfall at the Beaconsfield Gold Mine.
Mr Webb's in-laws, Julie and Michael Kelly, revealed how they and his wife, Rachael Webb, heard the news.
"We're just about to sit down to have tea, and the gentleman from the mine comes rushing in and he wouldn't speak to us. He still had his muddy boots on, and he just knelt down crying, and he said to Rachael, "They're alive!" And you have no idea, it was the best news we could've heard. We've all been grieving."
Rescue teams are continuing to try to break through the last 12 metres of an escape tunnel to reach the two men.
