Police are trying to search a badly damaged building in Adelaide after a large explosion early this morning.
There are fears a man may have been injured or killed in the blast, which took place around 3 a-m in Pirie Street, a street of offices and government buildings.
The explosion blew out the front of the building housing a sports store, army-disposal store, café and wine bar.
The owner of the sports store, Tom Warhurst, says the building is beyond repair.
"The force of the explosion has come out the front, but, because of the movement in the building, it looks like the two-storey back wall has collapsed at the back of the building. So the building is not in good shape.
"I have spoken to the owner, who's also in construction, and he says it will be bowled over, it will be condemned." He says.
Police say they have not been able to contact the missing man and his car has been found parked behind the building.
The cause of the blast is still being investigated.
