The Victorian Liberal Party has elected Ted Baillieu as its new leader.
Mr BAILLIEU was elected unopposed today to replace former leader Robert Doyle, who resigned last Thursday.
The 52-year-old is a member of one of Melbourne's wealthiest families, with strong influences in politics and business circles.
Mr Baillieu says while campaigning for the state election in November will be tough, there is hope that the Liberal Party can win office.
He says his team will focus its campaign on public transport, education, and health.
The new leader is expected to name his frontbench next week.
