The federal government is facing another possible backbench revolt over its plans to prevent asylum seekers having their claims processed on the Australian mainland.
Last month the government announced it would process all illegal arrivals offshore.
It followed a diplomatic row with Indonesia over the decision to grant temporary protection visas to 42 Papua asylum seekers.
At a joint party meeting of government MP and Senators a number were given the chance to express concern over the legislation, which is being introduced to parliament later this week.
The Prime Minister John Howard however insists the legislation won't be withdrawn.
