The federal opposition says people working on a casual or part-time basis will get nothing from Tuesday's budget.

The Opposition spokeswoman for Women and Child Care, Tanya Plibersek, says any tax relief will be directly off-set by higher prices.

She says it will mostly be women and migrant communities that will be affected and the government has failed to offer them any form of security, financial or job-wise.

"The less secure a persons employment is, obviously, the less secure their income and this budget does nothing to secure their budget or their income into the future.

"And in fact by failing to invest in Australia's massive skills shortage, we're not just jeopardising the future of individuals, we're jeopardising the future of the nation," she says.
