The Federal Attorney- General Philip Ruddock has granted Commissioner Terrence Cole an extension until the 29th of September.

The Cole Inquiry has been delayed by Federal Court action by the wheat exporter. AWB has told the Federal Court a large number of documents are subject to legal professional privilege and shouldn't be available to the inquiry.

The claim has caused problems for Mr Cole and his investigators, stopping them from looking at documents detailing legal advice obtained by AWB. Mr Cole is believed to be seeking access to almost two-thousand documents.
