It is the first confirmed breach of the peace deal by the Sudanese army.

The attack was carried out on the Justice and Equality Movement, which did not sign the peace deal.

An assortment of armed groups that remain outside the peace deal have taken shelter in the Jebel Moon mountains.

A spokesman for the Justice and Equality Movement accused the Sudanese government of systematically attacking groups who have refused to sign the peace deal.
