The 34-year-old Queensland man, who hasn’t been named, was injured when a roadside bomb exploded four days ago about 45 kilometres northeast of Bagdad.

The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade says two Iraqi citizens were killed in the same blast.

Consular officials in Australia are helping the man's family and embassy officials are working closely with the man's employer.
