It's been revealed that a New York woman whose apartment was burned
in a high-rise plane crash two days ago was the victim of another bizarre, high-profile Manhattan accident years earlier.
Kathleen Caronna and her family were unhurt in the crash which killed New York Yankees pitcher Cory Lidle and his flight instructor Tyler Stanger.
The engine of the Cirrus SR20 landed in her bedroom which went up in flames minutes before she would have arrived home.
But Caronna wasn't so lucky in 1997 when she was critically injured during the Thanksgiving Day Parade after a mammoth Cat in the Hat parade float went out of control and knocked part of a lamp post onto her head.
She lay in a coma for nearly a month.
