A frosty reception
It may be a sin, but after 90min in the (outdoor, subzero) accreditation queue at the climate summit in Copenhagen, 2 degrees warming is starting to sound pretty good.
Cameraman Jeff Kehl and l got here an hour before the 8am opening & bumped into the equally dazed & confused team from Channel Ten by the side of the road.
This was, indeed, a minor Scandinavian miracle among the 30,000 strong mob with presumably the biggest single carbon footprint planted on the earth since the dawn of time.
After serendipitously finding each other we are now in the queue huddled together for warmth with many hundreds of others and l am blogging to pass the time & stop the fingers from succumbing to frostbite).
We're trying to maintain collective good humour as climate sceptics march up & down forcing leaflets & wild-eyed speeches upon us just because we are trapped.
The earnest climatically concerned international group in front of us are swapping anecdotes about how much their respective countries have already cut emissions & what they're doing about coal mining.
Now someone has turned off the bad disco music which at least was making us jump up & down a bit and replaced it with a screeching woman with a loud hailer saying something worthy about Sri Lanka.
I am starting a protest chant in favour of returning the disco music.
"Bee Gees! Bee Gees!"Ah, ah, ah, ah Stayin' Aliiiiiiive.
Warming? Bring it on.
