More than 300,000 Rohingya Muslims have fled Myanmar to Bangladesh.
The ethnic minority has faced decades of persecution where they are considered illegal immigrants in the predominantly Buddhist country.
The latest violence - that has sparked this mass fleeing - started on August 25 when insurgents carried out attacks on a number of police posts.
Refugees have told of how entire villages have been set alight by security officials.
Myanmar’s leader Aung San Suu Kyi has been criticised for not speaking out against the violence, with the Nobel Peace Prize recipient pulling out of a UN Security Council meeting on Wednesday.
