The tumblr ‘Women Against Feminism’ launched in January of this year, with this post:

In the past week it's hit the mainstream, with thousands of women submitting images of themselves with signs stating why they don’t need feminism.  They’re too numerous to explain fully, but these seem to be the basic complaints:

  • I don’t need feminism because I can vote, have a job, and do what I want.
  • I don’t need feminism because I am not oppressed, and I am not a victim.
  • I don’t need feminism because I make my own choices, and can speak for myself.
  • I don’t need feminism because it destroys families.
  • I don’t need feminism because I don’t believe in abortion.
  • I don’t need feminism because being catcalled is not an assault.
  • I don’t need feminism because I don’t hate men.
  • I don’t need feminism because I’m more than just a vagina.
  • I don’t need feminism because I love  being feminine/ looking pretty/ being a mother/ my boyfriend.
  • I don’t need feminism because it is sexist.

And here’s the strangest:

  • I don’t need feminism because I believe in equal rights for all.
