The boat apprehended in Geraldton

John - from Sorell, 1 month

I have talked to ship a ship provedore. How come no one is asking these questions. Where was the fuel needed for the trip be stored? Where was the water and food stored on board that would be needed. No one seemed to be hungry. Where did they sleep. etc. etc. The boat seemed to have the obligatory heavily pregnant women and young children. or was it unloaded from some sort of carrier off Geraldton? I would like some real answers.

common sense advise

The indonesians have repeatedly advised this government that if they are serious aboat stopping the boats they need only "take the sugar off the table".

Illegal immigrants should not be allowed to set foot on Australian ground. I cant see why the Boats and owners shouldnt be severely punished e.g.the boats impounded and destroyed and all of the illegals flown straight back to where they came f

easy question

Not LABOUR,s asylum policy !

Recognition asylum seeker and refugee

Hoa Minh Truong - from Cloverdale, Western Australia, 5 months ago

The Geneva conference on July 28, 1951 confirmed: refugee couldn't return to where they escaped, even contact to its embassy. UN and the western state made critical mistake, so there are many refugee turned asylum seeker. The Australia has no responsibility for asylum seeker, if whoever came back safe to homeland.

stupid question

colonial boy - from europe, 6 months ago

it is obvious labor does not want to stop the illegal ¨asylum seekers¨ it is obvious that labor policies are not working, 88 people a day have entered in the last 3 months. it is obvious how dangerous the greens are. it is obvious Abbott and his crew will stop them all soon. it is obvious SBS lacks intellect in their Your Say questions.

Australia should stop poking other countries around the world especially those 'troubled ones" as pointed out by the Western world (Nazi USA, Nazi Netherlands, Nazi Germany, Nazi Croatia, Nazi UK, Nazi Israel, Nazi Turkey etc.) By the way, it seems to me that the Jews were just learning form the Germans when it comes to attrocities commited to them in the Second World War and now they are just applyng the same thing on the Palestinians.

It wasn't broke, but Labour fixed it anyway.

The Gillard government has agreed to SELECTIVELY implement the so called expert panel's recommendations for a return to effective border protection, perhaps if they ever get around to implementing ALL of their recommendations we may even eventually see a return to a safer, fairer, more efficient and far less costly system.

Green logic

The Greens have the answer, just capitulate and let anyone and everyone in. Oh yes, and we should be bringing them here in safety and comfort.

cut and fill

Simos - from Leichardt, 7 months ago

Gillard's flying circus are drasticly cutting defence spending to attempt to plug the ever expanding hole in the budget caused by their failed border protection policies, If that makes any sense to you, you're probably beyond help.
