"Women should be 'classy' when breastfeeding in public." I do agree.

Really?

Having read a large number of the comments below i am in disbelief at the number of people against breats feeding in public. No comment i read contained any logical reasoning. What are you afraid of? Why are we so ashamed of our bodies? Look in the mirror, you all have some type of breasts and nipples, do they scare you?

progressive conformity.

Australia is not a third world country and I think we have moved on from the notion that anyone should be able to do anything they wish, anywhere they wish, any time they feel like it and start conforming to some of the ,more progressive rules of a modern first world society.

Enough of this - change of subject please

Should we not discuss more important subjects here? What about the the Australian Government who is unable to protect our waters against whalers?

Far out

Jesus, are people really afraid of a little boob? Why have we become so fearful of our bodies to this extent? It's absurd. As a man I'm astounded by the vast number of my gender who are willing to tell women what they should do with their own bodies. Shame.

this comment is completely off topic. he or she has a problem with the immediate positive connotations my name brings to the majority of Australians. he, she discriminates against poor grammar and my name, then has the further hypocrisy to call me a hypocrite. i guess some people just dont like being told they need a therapist.

Anything offensive or discriminatory in your name perhaps? Poor grammar? Hypocrisy? Think about it.

While I am not offended by the sight of a breast, there is a time and place for everything. Unfortunately society has continued to breed out a few of the more acceptable behavioural patterns that were once an essential part of a more moral world: With this decline in basic standards I shudder to think of the world I am leaving to my children. It’s time to stop dwelling on such nonsense a climate change and look closer at our own backyards, it may well tell us things that belong in nightmares.

Generalised statements and making assumptions without proof that the commentators in here have "hang-ups" or "religious" does not add to the discussion and it is not the point of the question. One does not necessarily have "hang-ups" or has to be "religious" as you put it, to express an opinion or thought for or against the topic as it is up to ones own judgement. Political correctness has a lot to answer for, because it stymies proper debate and at least SBS allows an outlet for public comment.
