The leaders of the rival Palestinian factions Fatah and Hamas have signed a deal to form a unity government, that will prepare for elections in the West Bank and Gaza.

 

The agreement has been slammed by Israel, which has warned peace talks with the Palestinian President Mahmud Abbas will not be possible while he is joined with Hamas.
