The federal government says Australians in rural and remote areas are a step closer to fast and affordable broadband services.

 

It has announced a $620 million agreement for the design and building of two satellites to deliver high speed broadband to some of the most geographically-isolated Australians by 2015.

 

Amanda Cavill reports from Canberra.
