The federal opposition claims proposed changes to the Medicare levy rebate will be disastrous for the health system.

The federal opposition claims Australians will abandon private health insurance in their hundreds of thousands if the government's changes to the Medicare levy rebate pass through the parliament next week.

 

It appears the government now has enough support to pass the changes which would introduce a means test for eligibility to receive the 30 per cent rebate for private health insurance.
