The leaders of the world's most industrialised nations have managed to hammer out a deal of sorts to hold a peace conference on Syria.
The G-8* leaders agreed at a summit in Northern Ireland to hold the conference in Geneva, where there will be a push for a transitional government in Syria.
But ... reports the G-8 plan did not set a date for the conference, nor did it mention the role Syrian president Bashar al-Assad would play in any transition of power.
