The state of Caley Valley wetlands at Abbott Point is shocking says Juru elder

The Acting-Prime Minister has dismissed environmental concerns around the release of sediment-laden water./from Adani's coal terminal/ into nearby wetlands.

 

The Abbot Point Terminal in Queensland's north is being investigated to determine if it made /unauthorised water releases.

 

The state's Department of Environment and Heritage Protection launched the inquiry/ after satellite images/ appeared to show sediment-laden water/ flowing into the Caley Valley.

 

Speaking to the A-B-C, Barnaby Joyce played down the potential impact.

US launches missile strike against Syria

The United States has launched cruise missile strikes on a government controlled air base in Syria -- in response to a chemical weapons attack it blames on President Bashar Assad.

 

US officials say nearly 60 Tomahawk missiles were fired from two warships in the Mediterranean Sea.
