K-pop isn't all about those upbeat, super-energetic songs. For every thumping track, there's an equally awesome song that happens to be a tear-inducing ballad!
In an interesting new thread over on Reddit, K-pop fans got into a fascinating discussion about which is their go-to "sad" K-pop song. With Reddit being the home to a large number of fans who have diverse tastes and interests, the answers were certainly very interesting.
Here are of the go-to "sad" K-pop songs as named by fans:
For me most definitely my sad songs are:
Rain - Soyou & Baekhyun
Shannon - Love don't hurt
- Since I'm a sucker for K-Ballads
Ryeowook-The Little Prince
EXO-Miracles of December
- IOI - Downpour i didn't even watch produce 101 and i feel like sobbing
SNSD - Into The New World (Ballad Tokyo Dome)
I cry evertim...
also downpour :(
Younha - Wasted
The singer definitely sings with a lot of emotion in this one.
AKMU - Melted, watched the MV once and now every time I listed to the song I am almost brought to tears, which sucks because it's a great song and I don't like crying.
2NE1 - Goodbye, I just think "whyyyyyyyyyyyy?" every time I listen to it. It doesn't help that with the little Korean I know I understand the key points eg "just don't go", "till the day we meet again goodbye"...
2NE1 - Lonely, the music is pretty upbeat but the English lyrics that I do understand are super sad and resonate with me when I have my blues :(
- Ladies Code - I'm Fine Thank You.
Lately, it's been:
Epik High - Pieces of You (breathtaking lyrics)
Roy Kim - With the Heart to Forget You (cover)
JYJ - In Heaven
f(x) - Ending Page
Seventeen - Smile Flower (I know its from Woozi to the group... but the bittersweet feelings are also v relatable)
BIGBANG - If You
Zion T - Yanghwa Bridge
Epik High - Umbrella
