Night of music for Italian Earthquake victims

On Thursday 18 June at 8pm SBS Radio presents Sydney's most accomplished Italian-Australian musicians in a special concert event to raise money for the victims of the Abruzzo earthquake. The event will be hosted by SBS TV personality Silvio Rivier.
The devastating earthquake killed nearly 300 people and left more than 20,000 people homeless in the Abruzzo region in Italy.
Held at prestigious Sydney venue Le Montage (38 Frazer St, Lilyfield), the all-star line up includes Italian-Australians Guy Strazz (formerly Guy Strazzullo), an award-winning composer and guitar virtuoso, performing with singer Edoardo Santoni, and Virna Sanzone, who is emerging as one of Australia's most captivating singers. Her passionate delivery and understated approach have seen her compared to vocal masters such as Roberta Flack and kd lang. Virna will be accompanied by pianist Matt McMahon.
Roman-born singer Carlotta Centanni will also feature at the inspiring fundraiser. Centanni has an extensive musical CV, winning critical acclaim both for her albums and live performances at renowned jazz club La Palma and other venues in Rome.
Other performers on the night include Italian-Australian Woman of the Year, soprano and mardi-gras cabaret diva Nadia Piave with veteran guitarist Gino Pengue and celebrated accordionist Ross Maio. The extraordinary 2nd generation musical family D'Abruzzo, fronted by the flamboyant 20 year old Aaron D'Abruzzo and his pioneering dad Maurice (who was actually born in Italy's Abruzzo region), promise a saucy blend of exotic rhythms topped with sizzling rock'n'soul vocals.
All proceeds will be donated to the Australian Abruzzo Earthquake Appeal Fund. Tickets are $50.
The Package Special is available prior to the concert. This includes a large variety of hot and cold canapés accompanied by a full beverage package including local & imported beers & a selection of sparkling, white & red wines. Available from 6.30-8.00pm for the Package Special price of $20 (regular value $40 PP). Please book in NOW.
