"Focus on running the business, NOT on working in the business." Shivani
Brad comes from a blue-collar background. He operated a back-hoe for a number of years working with building companies. A fitness fanatic and part time gym instructor,Brad thinks he has spotted a potential gap in the fitness market and he's willing to put everything on the line to prove himself right. He is also a man on a mission to change people's lives through fitness.
ZONE will be a community hub, a chance for Brad to help the local people get fit. ZONE will be pushing 'Group Fitness' classes, a high ENERGY, multi-media fitness program for up to 80 people at a time. Brad is almost evangelical in his belief and has gathered a small flock of believers to his dream business.
Brad has convinced his girlfriend Megan to take out a loan against her house to the value of $125,000 to help fund ZONE. She works full time and is contemplating leaving her job when ZONE starts to build momentum.
Brad has also convinced his ex-wife Annette and her new husband Greg to invest $45,000. Annette and Brad split a number of years ago and recently Brad has become best mates with her new hubby Greg who is a carpenter. Greg and Brad have built most of the shop fit out themselves working well into the night for the last few months. Annette will work part time at ZONE behind the counter. Between the four of them they have two dogs, a baby, a toddler and a brand new, very expensive fitness centre!
And then there's 'Grandpa' Norm. Norm is a recent widower who since the beginning of the work on the gym 5 months ago, has spent everyday helping Brad build the place. Norm doesn't like being alone and has proved to be one of the best (and cheapest) workers they have.
This is definitely a family affair...
