Patience Hodgson is the lead singer of an increasingly popular three-piece band hailing from Brisbane called The Grates. Patience has known drummer Alana Skyring since childhood and they met Guitarist John Patterson whist in drama class. Their big break came after sending a their song Trampoline (which was recorded in Johns shed) to Triple J. Patience is best known for jumping up and down on stage whilst performing their highly energetic and catchy tunes. She is also recognized for wearing bold colors and crazy socks. Their debut album Gravity wont get you high (2006) hit the ARIA charts at #9 and they have received nominations for ARIA Awards, Jack Awards, The Australian Music Prize and the Triple J J Award are released Teeth Lost, Hearts Won in 2008.
