Katy Steele is the singer/songwriter/guitarist of the band Little Birdy formed in Perth in 2002. ‘Katy Steele is no stranger to traveling the countryside with only her guitar for company on stage. Opening as a solo act for seminal Aussie songster Paul Kelly on his national tour in 2007, Katy sang the length and breadth of the country, from Derby to Sydney.’ ‘Her vocal range, songwriting, and sartorial splendour have attracted comparisons to Kate Bush, PJ Harvey and Chrissie Hynde… Katy Steele’s knack for penning Bacharach-esque hooks is undeniable … they sound classic but not retro.’ Little Birdy have just released their third album, Confetti.
