  • Katy Steele

Katy Steele is the singer/songwriter/guitarist of the band Little Birdy formed in Perth in 2002. ‘Katy Steele is no stranger to traveling the countryside with only her guitar for company on stage. Opening as a solo act for seminal Aussie songster Paul Kelly on his national tour in 2007, Katy sang the length and breadth of the country, from Derby to Sydney.’  ‘Her vocal range, songwriting, and sartorial splendour have attracted comparisons to Kate Bush, PJ Harvey and Chrissie Hynde… Katy Steele’s knack for penning Bacharach-esque hooks is undeniable … they sound classic but not retro.’  Little Birdy have just released their third album, Confetti.

    Bob Evans

‘Kevin Mitchell (born 1 October 1976), is an Australian pop-musician, most famous
for his role as vocalist/guitarist for the band Jebediah. Today, Kevin Mitchell often performs his solo work under the pseudonym of Bob Evans. He has released three albums under this name, His first was a low key album titled Suburban Kid, which was released in 2003. It was released on Redline Records, and was not widely available. Whilst all the tracks were written by Kevin Mitchell, one song, “The Hermit”, was co-written by Luke Steele from The Sleepy Jackson. Katy Steele, from Little Birdy also performed backup vocals on the album. The follow up was released in 2006 and has been titled Suburban Songbook. Suburban Songbook won the “Best Adult Contemporary Album” and Kevin Mitchell (Bob Evans) was nominated for “Best Male Artist” in the 2006 ARIA Awards. The album was also nominated for the 2006 Australian Music Prize and the 2006 J Award. 2009 saw the release of Goodnight, Bull Creek!, named after his hometown in Western Australia. It was recorded in Nashville and features a bigger kind sound with more instrumentation and a driving rock feel.’
