Television

SBS Television includes SBS ONE, SBS ONE HD, SBS TWO and SBS Regional.

SBS Television has developed a series of verticals (or genres) around its content programming.
These verticals incorporate Entertainment, Factual, Film, Food & Sport.

Each vertical follows specific marketing and audience segmentation strategies.
For example, Monday night provides an excellent opportunity to connect with young males through our entertainment package targeted at “cult lads” … connected; looking for something better;  Men 18-34;  some still studying at Uni or TAFE and some have a diploma/degree (36%).  They work full time in professional / manager and skilled occupations with personal incomes of $50K+.  They are less likely to be married, and live in households with more than one income.

They are success-driven technophiles who are out and about:  play lots of sport and like tough, physical activity.  They believe in taking risks.  They also enjoy the good life:  partying, trying new food and looking for new experiences.  They are very heavy internet users.  They blog, shop, advertise, buy and sell online and are heavily into social media.

Specific programming centred around our verticals provides specific and effective reach to SBS audiences who are highly engaged and passionate about the SBS offering.

Our insights reveal an adult audience of 25+ and a skew towards male viewers rather than the female bias seen on other networks.  A five minute per hour advertising limit, combined with shorter in program breaks with less advertising clutter and vertical-specific programming, allows SBS to offer specific reach and audience connection.

This focused reach is further enhanced by our ability to split our advertising stream into regional and metro markets.
