Synopsis

Whare Māori is an exciting new television series dedicated to exploring the unique history of Māori architecture. Delving into the stories of the people that worked together to create buildings where whanau (family) and hapu (sub-tribe) could celebrate and worship, learn and govern.

Whare Māori is a celebration of Māori innovation in architecture with presenter Rau Hoskins (Nga Puhi), a lecturer in Māori architecture and the director of design TRIBE architects, as our guide. On this journey around the country, he’ll explore the rich history of Māori architecture along with current and future trends.
