Synopsis

Setting the series aside from other travel programs A Fork in Australia will "provide a sort of outsider's point of view with a little insider's knowledge," says intrepid traveller Pria Viswalingam.

The series focuses on Australia covers topics as diverse as tourism to "The Cringe", where artists are compelled to venture overseas for recognition.

It looks at food, exploring the extraordinary range of styles that exist in Australia, and at the land and the indigenous people.

In "The Pilgrimage" Pria talks to expatriates in Britain about home, and "Friends and Lovers" looks at how we love and relate to each other.

Pria visits the vast wheat belt in WA in "Wheat", and the "Clever Country" episode investigates our defence, Canberra's diplomats and the 'smartening-up of Australia'.
