Movie: (Moj Nikifor) - The story begins in 1960 in Krynica, a picturesque mountain spa in southern Poland, and follows the last eight years in the life of Nikifor, also known as Nikifor Krynicki (really Epifan Drowniak, 1895 - 1968), a self-taught painter, of obscure origins. It is told from the point of view of Marian Wlosinski into whose studio Nikifor moves in uninvited, having wandered in off the street just as Wlosinski is busy overseeing preparations for the anniversary of the October Revolution. Malaysian Safari - Maeve explores the spicy world of Malaysian food, whose devotees cross oceans for the best laksa, roti and curry. Maeve meets with 5 star chef Jess Ong (Sofitel, Sydney) who demystifies the endless range of sauces, spices, dried fish, and fresh noodles of Malaysian cooking, and comes up with the must-have ingredients needed to start a workable Malaysian pantry. He then takes us home to cook the simplest noodles on earth - char kway teow. Chef Alvin Tan (Seri Nonya), then demonstrates a magnificent beef rendang that anyone can make at home, especially using Alvin's tips. He's there to solve problems - providing seasonal tips and advice - as well as to explore the obsessions of each garden's creator. He will fire viewers' culinary senses as he regularly introduces viewers to his mum, Eleni Kanidiadis, who will share traditional Greek recipes using home grown ingredients. Basque Songs For centuries, singing was part of the daily lives of the Basque people. Today, it is becoming the reflection of a traditional society, itself subject to important changes. New melodies, new performers and styles are emerging. So a new Basque singing competition was established for children from 6 to 15. The aim is to showcase new performers and promote the Basque language. Yungang Grottoes - The Yungang Grottoes, in Datong city, Shanxi Province, with their 252 caves and 51,000 statues, represent the outstanding achievement of Buddhist cave art in China in the 5th and 6th centuries. The Five Caves created by Tan Yao, with their strict unity of layout and design, constitute a classical masterpiece of the first peak of Chinese Buddhist art. Presented by Silvio Rivier. Being a romantic, and believing in 'true love', he is sorely disappointed when his friend suggests they have sex with no strings attached. T'ien instead goes to a bar and runs into his ex-classmate Yu, and in the process meets the 'Number One Playboy' Bai Tie Nan, who is notorious for one night stands and T'ien very quickly develops a liking towards Bai. This film won a Golden Horse Award at the 2004 Golden Horse Film Festival. Directed by Chen Yin-jung, and stars Tony Yang, and Duncan Lai.
