Movie: That Day (Ce Jour Là) - Nominated for the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival in 2003. A surreal, sophisticated thriller set in the near future. Tells the story of Livia, a flaky young woman who manages to foil a nasty family plot to kill her for her mother's inheritance. Her smooth and vicious father wants to make sure everything the girl gets from her mother returns into his business and he'll sacrifice as many of his children as necessary to get there. The problem is, the psychopath sent to kill the girl and whoever else stands in the way, is defeated by the girl's disarming manner. For 15 years, 42-year-old Liz Hughes has been a road worker, driving big rollers in the outback. Seeking a life change, she wants to work with animals. So for two weeks, animal-loving Liz is given the chance to try one of the toughest jobs in animal welfare: an RSPCA inspector. Turkish Safari - This week Food Safari enters the delicious colourful world of one of the cuisines we know least about in Australia - Turkish food. While kebabs and Turkish delight are well known, some of the amazing array of vegetable dishes, salads, dips and marinated meats are yet to be discovered. Host Maeve O'Meara visits an emporium filled with ingredients for Turkish cooking with her friend chef Serif Kaya from the acclaimed Ottoman Restaurant in Canberra and now Sydney. Esma Koroglu discusses the Turkish love of colourful dips and whips up two beauties - a beetroot dip and a carrot dip. Ishil Ihtiyar makes a salad made with golden roasted eggplant and a bulgar pilaf made with the adored cracked wheat and capsicum paste. We see how Turkish delight is made to a classic recipe at Real Turkish delight in Auburn and have a quick sampling of some Turkish sweets before joining passionate home-cook and great baker Gulbahar Kaya who whips up a easy and light Semolina Syrup Cake. Dili's New Street Cops - This four-part series details the adventures and challenges that Australian Federal Police encounter in their quest to bring justice and peace to the islands of the Pacific traumatised by civil war. This series follows several Australian Federal Agents deployed to the Solomon Islands, where they patrol the streets of the capital Honiara, the remote and dangerous Weather Coast and outer islands that rarely, if ever, see law enforcement. In tonight's episode, Australian Federal Agent Dave Elson, who we met on the Weather Coast of the Solomon Islands in Episode One, is now deployed to East Timor. He and his colleague Danielle Woodward spend 6 hours a day, seven days per week patrolling the streets of Dili, the capital of the fledging independent nation of East Timor. After 29 years of struggle the Buddha, through enlightenment, is said to have found the path to transcend this cycle. A young monk named Tashi, who has lived a monastic life since the age of five, is brought back to his ancient monastery after three years of solitary meditation.
