Mumbai -India - Really love the way the show is conducted - Maeve O'Meara is an excellent hostess - however just wanted to calirfy some minor discrepancies i.e In Food Safari - Pakistan, it was claimed that Pakistan is the birthplace of Tandoor, which is incorrect - Pakistan came into being in the early 1940's post partition from India. Tandoor originated in Persia (Iran) and was brought to India via Afghanistan by Arabs. Evidence also exists that Tandoor may have been native to India dating back to 3000 BC. Overall love the way the show is presented and the easy to follow recipes. Wish there were more shows like this
Love this book, always something tasty to enjoy no matter what food I am craving.
Great book, I bought it after I read the review on www.cookmybooks.com.au which raved about it
Love the food. Loving the book. Love the series. Eat, Love, love to eat, pray not to eat too much to prevent love. Xo@
I agree with Jacqui...good book but should include more cuisne from our Pacifc neighbours. Just to correct Jacqui though - "Palusami" is Samoan, not a Fijian dish. Cheers
love the book especially the italian sufari though i haven't finished it yet :D
I've been using this every week since I bought it 2 months ago. I loved the series, and am so thankful a book as come to match. So far everything I've made has been great and I'm learning how to use different ingredients and cooking methods. A great introduction to things I'd never have tried before. The only downside is that it feels somewhat incomplete (only ~5 recipes per cuisine), but that's only because I'm so thrilled with everything I've made so far I want to go and explore each cuisine in more detail
Love the series, love the book, but there is no reference as to where to source the more elusive ingredients. Searching the Food Safari website hasn't helped either.
I gave this book to my son for Christmas. He is a chef, and just loved it. Not only did he love it, but our other guests also. I think they would of gone straight out and got a copy for themselves.
I absolutely fell in love with the show, and just love how Maeve presents the people, ingredients and recipes. Just loved it, so when I saw the book out this Christmas, it was going to be my Xmas present to myself. I was buying books for the rest of the family, and I only just flicked through the pages for a second, with full intententions to buy it. Therefore it was with great dismay when I got home and delved into this little wonder I'd bought for myself, that I found that every page I turned the recipes did not correspond with the beautiful pictures. I can understand I think why this is so?? to maybe try and get a feel for the countries and the people and the food. But to see a fantastic recipe for something you'd love to make and always dreamed of making, only to find you don't really know what it's going to look like. Or to look at a beautiful picture and think, wow I've got to make that, only to find the recipe not there. Utter, utter dissapointment. Considering you can go on the net and download any recipe you wish, with accompanying pictures or videos. Very sad to think I've wasted a good deal of money on something I had such hopes for.
