Overview

Feast Greece is a nine-part journey into an ancient land with a gloriously rich past. With its dramatic mountains, magical islands and deep blue seas, Greece is a country which seduces its travellers back time after time. From the awe-inspiring rock pinnacles and monasteries of Meteora, to the mastic trees of Southern Chios. From the stone villages of mountainous Zagoria, to the bustling metropolis of Athens; this series highlights the many facets of this wonderfully diverse country. Following the success of Feast India and Feast Bazaar, Chef Barry Vera embarks on the journey of a lifetime, experiencing first-hand the culture, traditions, cuisine, and people of Greece.

Extremely great in sight to great produce located by some areas in Greece, I particularly liked the episodes on Mytilini. Detailed and fantastic views.

This isn't a review, but rather a question. Besides the DVD of the Feast Greece series, is their a compilation of the music. It is not credited at the end of the show (in particular the Chios episode). The music in the Chios one, transports my soul to Greece...

In these 2 DVDs, chef Barry visited many cities, villages and monasteries in Greece, talked to elderly and small traditional industries, trade people and housewives; he was searching for recipes and ingredients, was tasting their food, celebrating and cooking with them. It is an excellent DVD gives the audience the feeling of the place and people as well as the principals of the Greek Diet. I felt as if I was in Greece with them

How fantastic it is to watch a travel / documentary / cooking show all rolled into one. I must also say that the presenter, Barry Vera, appears to be a genuine nice character who really enjoys the authenticity of the villages & the people that he visits. Other travel presenters should learn a trick or two on how to behave in front of a camera. Really well done. I hope to see many more shows. Thanks Lorna.

An interesting program, aproached from a slightly different angle to usual, certainly informative, with good photography and an absence of waffle.

Just finished seeing 'Feast Greece' (started to watch on SBS, then couldn't resist and bought DVD). Just wanted to congratulate all involved in the production of this insightful series. High quality, beautifully filmed, excellent commentary, wonderful places and people, well researched!
