The series was funny and was carried by the superior acting of actress who plays Miki. The story of Layla which was beautifully written was both moving and significant in that it shows the complexities of a young woman struggling with her sexuality in a family structure and culture that frowns deeply upon it. Even though it has serious issues that it deals with, it is balanced really well with the comedy of Miki and of course Tran. If you want to laugh your butt off and experience the different lives of the people of Hope Street, this is a must see.
