Overview

Can technology really take us into the realms of science fiction with flying cars, robotic workers and limitless energy?

Come Fly with Me
James laments the fact that we’re still reliant on ideas developed in the 19th and 20th century. He travels to Russia to take the controls of a means of transport previously kept secret from the west, and to the US where he flies the original and only surviving flying car and wonders why we don’t have them now.

Man-Machine
James explores the world of cyborgs, robots and artificial intelligence. In Japan he meets a man who has made an android double of himself and plays baseball with a robot. And tries to move himself using only the power of his mind.

Power to the People
James travels to New Mexico to see if he can run his car on thin air and to Holland where scientists are looking to harness a Japanese discovery 20 kilometres above the earth. Is the solution out of this world?
