Saigon

Saigon

In the first episode of Luke Nguyen’s Vietnam, Luke explores the food and culture of Vietnam’s largest city, Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City). At the busy and sprawling Ben Than Market, Luke prepares a traditional broth, and then takes to the streets where he recreates Vietnam's favourite takeaway snack, green papaya salad. At night, Saigon continues to pump with colour and noise, while Luke enlists the help of a street-food vendor to cook up another delicious local dish.
